Paul has just completed the epic score to series 3 of the BBCs Hit series THE MUSKETEERS, which will hit TV screens worldwide soon. His thrilling orchestral music was recorded in London Prague over the last 6 months. A soundtrack album featuring music from all 3 series’ will be released to coincide with the series 3 premiere.
This Winter saw series 4 of LUTHER, accompanied by a typically chilling and thrilling score by Paul, with Idris Elba’s portrayal of DCI John Luther picking up many well deserved gongs this awards season so far.
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s magnificent History Cycle KING AND COUNTRY, directed by Gregory Doran and featuring a lavish score by Paul, has recently completed a run at London’s Barbican, before embarking on a world tour. The cycle, starring David Tennant as Richard II, Anthony Sher as Falstaff , Alex Hassel as Henry V, Jasper Britton as Henry IV and a virtuoso company of RSC actors played to great critical acclaim and full houses. DVDs and soundtrack CDs of are available from the RSC store and iTunes.
Lolita Chakribarti’s stunning play RED VELVET is playing at the Garrick theatre in London as part of the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s residence. The play stars Adrian Lester as Ira Aldridge, the first black actor to play Othello in the west end. Directed by Indhu Rubasingham with music is by Paul.
Paul is currently adapting his score for the National Theatre’s family show EMIL AND THE DETECTIVES, which had a brilliant run in Olivier Theatre during the 2014/15 season, to include songs, to be presented as a musical for schools this year.
A new album by THE PAUL ENGLISHBY BAND, featuring original Englishby tunes is in production, due for release at the end of the year.
The RSC recently announced a ground breaking production of THE TEMPEST, coming this Autumn, which will employ never-before-seen- on-stage technology. The production will employ motion-capture techniques, usually associated with visual effects in cinema films, in collaboration with INTEL and IMAGINARY STUDIOS, to summon up the magic and awe of the play…..see link for more information.

Much of this year will be spent on a major commission, a new ballet for NATIONAL BALLET OF CANADA. The subject is PINOCCHIO (as you have never seen him before). The full length ballet will premiere in Toronto early next year, and then be presented world wide.
