2017 Round up

2017 was another great year for music making, including the World Premiere of Paul’s full length ballet PINOCCHIO in Toronto, for the National Ballet of Canada, and an Ivor Novello Award nomination for his dark, brooding score for THE WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION.

Paul’s music helped garner lavish praise for the BBC’s adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s DECLINE AND FALL, shown in the spring: a lush orchestral score, leaping from anarchic comedy to romance and jeopardy. Paul also composed the music for two World Premiere theatre productions: Deborah Bruce’s new play THE HOUSE THEY GREW UP IN for the Chichester Festival, directed by Jeremy Herrin, and IMPERIUM for the RSC, an epic, six play adaptation of Robert Harris’ Cicero novels, both a huge success with critics and audience alike.
